I am a Massachusetts Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Massachusetts Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC 1), an adjunct faculty member in Lesley University's graduate Counseling and Psychology Division, and a Certified Supervisor.

Before opening my private practice in 2004, I worked in outpatient mental health and substance abuse clinics, a university counseling center, and a day treatment program for the chronically mentally ill.
Psychotherapy is my second career. I was a journalist in a major market for 25 years, mostly in television as an on-air reporter, editor, and producer. I began in newspapers as a reporter, photographer, and movie reviewer; and all along as a freelancer specializing in adventure travel and humor for magazines and newspapers.
Despite an exciting and challenging life as a journalist (and enthusiastic middle-of-the-pack runner and triathlete), I began to question how much good I was really doing in the world. Tuning in to the voice of my Inner Self (over a number of years), I left it all behind, taking a leap into the unknown, enrolling in a three-year Master's program, and eventually becoming a psychotherapist. It is my mission to help you find your unique path to authenticity and fulfillment, as I found mine.
Since my teens I have been drawn to the great wisdom traditions, especially Buddhist philosophy and psychology, all of which continue to inform my work and my life. I am a firm believer in the need to balance spirituality with everyday life (and vice versa); to mindfully tend to our relationships, our work, and our physicality (exercise, nutrition, sleep, etc.); and to remember to be kind to ourselves.
I am a clinical member of several professional associations:
- Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association (MaMHCA)
- American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA)
- American Counseling Association
(ACA)
