Clinical Supervision
All psychotherapists, no matter how experienced, benefit from supervision to promote professional development, to improve competencies, and to better understand their own feelings and thought processes. Together we will monitor ongoing cases to promote the welfare of your clients and your effectiveness.
I offer supervision to licensed clinicians of any discipline and to LMHC candidates working toward Massachusetts licensure. I am an approved supervisor, and a MaMHCA Certified Supervisor. I offer individual and small group supervision.
Consultation
When ethical issues arise, or when you and a client are at an impasse, it is often helpful to consult with peers and/or a senior therapist. I offer case consultation on a one-time, intermittent, or continuing basis.
Psychotherapy for Psychotherapists
We routinely encourage our clients to practice self-care, but all too often find ourselves too busy and stressed to take our own advice. I believe that Self is the most important instrument of healing, so at times psychotherapy for ourselves can be essential. You are welcome to call to explore the possibility of our working together.
Trainings
I offer trainings on two topics: how and when to incorporate holistic approaches into your practice, and the basic competencies of substance abuse counseling. These trainings are designed for groups of clinicians and interns in mental health clinics, college counseling centers, or group practices.
The Practice of Healing
"To me, the practice of a healer, therapist, teacher, or any helping professional should be directed towards him or herself first, because if the helper is unhappy, he or she cannot help many people.
We practice enjoying the positive elements in life in order to nourish the flower in us, and we practice in order to transform the seeds of suffering in us. Otherwise, we cannot succeed in our work helping other people."
