My approach to therapy is holistic, focusing on all of the interdependent aspects of our lives, including body, mind, emotions, relationships, and spirit. My own daily contemplative practices help me in facilitating non-judgmental acceptance. I am not limited by any particular theory or set of techniques; I call on extensive experience, ongoing training, and intuition to suggest what might seem appropriate at any moment. Always with permission and in full collaboration with you. I am deeply respectful of each person's individual path to healing and growth. My style is an ever-shifting balance of attentive listening and active engagement.

I believe we all have a unique Inner Healer that is the source of our growth and development, and that it cannot be forced, or fully "figured out" intellectually. It tends to come alive in the moments when we surrender control over how we think we should be, and contact what we are truly meant to be, and then to act from that deep understanding. Just as physical pain is a signal that something is wrong biologically, psychic pain (anxiety, depression, feelings of emptiness, substance abuse) is a signal that something in us needs to change.

I work with adult individuals (and couples) with depression, stress, anxiety, substance abuse, interpersonal difficulties, and with those engaged in personal or spiritual growth. I welcome LGBT clients.

People who have the courage to seek help are not diagnoses; they are whole human beings who happen to be experiencing problems in living, as we all do at times.
